Visiting Downtown Las Vegas

The buzz is all about downtown Las Vegas at the moment. With the redevelopment taking place many people want to visit to be apart of it. Tourists and locals alike are flocking to downtown to check it out. Downtown is considered and commonly refereed to as Old Vegas as it was where it all began. Many of the original casinos are still present, which provides visitors with a sense of nostalgia, history and culture.There is many attractions to see from the famous Fremont Street Experience, various art galleries, the newly opened Mob Museum and the soon to open Smith Center for the performing arts, as well as many great restaurants, bars and casinos.

Here are a few tips to make your trip to downtown Las Vegas a great one. There are many great hotels you can stay at if you want to get the full experience.  While downtown is friendly to walk around like the main Las Vegas strip, renting a car will help you enjoy the experience more. These are two great properties to stay at or at least visit while you are in Old Vegas. When you have a rental car you will be able to drive around and truly experience everything downtown has to offer with out the hassle of waiting for a bus or taxi cab. You also could take a day trip to the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, or Red Rock Canyon if you have a rental car. If you are planning on making a trip to the Premium Outlet mall downtown you will be able to tote all of your new purchases back to the hotel in your rental car. Making rental car reservations, hotel reservations and buying show tickets in advance is always suggested. You also want to keep in mind there is limited free parking downtown. Make sure to cary some cash to pay for parking or to tip a valet attendant. Dress appropriately for the weather so you are comfortable.
