Visiting Downtown Las Vegas http://www.budgetvegas.com/blog/visiting-downtown-las-vegas http://www.budgetvegas.com/blog/visiting-downtown-las-vegas#comments Thu, 23 Feb 2012 12:38:30 +0000 admin http://www.budgetvegas.com/blog/?p=45 Continue reading ]]> The buzz is all about downtown Las Vegas at the moment. With the redevelopment taking place many people want to visit to be apart of it. Tourists and locals alike are flocking to downtown to check it out. Downtown is considered and commonly refereed to as Old Vegas as it was where it all began. Many of the original casinos are still present, which provides visitors with a sense of nostalgia, history and culture. There is many attractions to see from the famous Fremont Street Experience, various art galleries, the newly opened Mob Museum and the soon to open Smith Center for the performing arts, as well as many great restaurants, bars and casinos.

Here are a few tips to make your trip to downtown Las Vegas a great one. There are many great hotels you can stay at if you want to get the full experience. While downtown is friendly to walk around like the main Las Vegas strip, renting a car will help you enjoy the experience more. Budget Rent a Car has two convenient downtown Las Vegas locations located in The Stratosphere and The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. These are two great properties to stay at or at least visit while you are in Old Vegas. When you have a rental car you will be able to drive around and truly experience everything downtown has to offer with out the hassle of waiting for a bus or taxi cab. You also could take a day trip to the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, or Red Rock Canyon if you have a rental car. If you are planning on making a trip to the Premium Outlet mall downtown you will be able to tote all of your new purchases back to the hotel in your rental car. Making rental car reservations, hotel reservations and buying show tickets in advance is always suggested. You also want to keep in mind there is limited free parking downtown. Make sure to cary some cash to pay for parking or to tip a valet attendant. Dress appropriately for the weather so you are comfortable. And don’t forget a camera to capture all of your memories.

Convention Season in Las Vegas http://www.budgetvegas.com/blog/convention-season-in-las-vegas http://www.budgetvegas.com/blog/convention-season-in-las-vegas#comments Tue, 17 Jan 2012 18:28:41 +0000 admin http://www.budgetvegas.com/blog/?p=41 Continue reading ]]> It’s that time of year again, convention season here in fabulous Las Vegas. This time of year kicks of with the CES ( Consumer Electronics Show) one of the largest of the year and the conventions just keep on coming from here. During the first few months of the year Vegas is a very busy place to be with the hundreds and hundreds of conventions in town. Some of the larger conventions are Photo Marketing Association, Shooting, Hunting & Outdoor Trade Show, ShotT Show, Adult Entertainment Expo, World of Concrete, World Shoe Association, MAGIC Marketplace Spring Show, Golf Course Show, Nightclub and Bar Show, just to name a few.

During this time of year, planning your trip to Las Vegas for a convention or vacation is very important to do in advance. Book your flight, hotel and rental car as soon as you can. Making reservation in advance will get you better pricing during this peak time of the year. When attending a convention in Las Vegas, renting a car is the best option for your transportation needs. Taxi cab and monorail rides can add up when you are attending a convention. When you have a rental car you can be on your own schedule and will have the freedom to venture off the strip if you would like. All of the hotels on the main Las Vegas Strip offer free parking. However when heading to downtown Las Vegas be aware there are some areas where you will need to pay for parking.

Consider your rental car needs when you are traveling to Las Vegas for a convention. Will you be networking? Will you be taking clients out and picking them up in your rental car? How many bags did you bring with you? Are you working a booth or attending? Answering these questions will help you determine if you need a larger car, SUV, or even a luxury vehicle. Are you familiar with the city? If not, rent a GPS for your car to avoid getting lost and running late. It is also a great idea to pre-pay for your gas to give you one less thing to worry about when you return the car and are trying to catch a flight.
